After 3 years on online and virtual meetings, the IH Directors' Conference has finally returned to face-to-face format last month, where over 125 delegates were warmly welcomed in Madrid. Apart from the joy of seeing old and new friends coming together at this event, the IH conference was also a way to consolidate the theme that "Team Work makes Dream Work". It has been a challenging three years for everyone, however, our schools, agents and industry partners have pulled through, and this event was the ideal way to celebrate this.

The conference hosts, International House Madrid, recently celebrated their 40th anniversary and so it was particularly special to be holding the conference in their city after such an important milestone. A special thank you to Daniel Saron and Debbie Rimmer, for their help and support in organising the conference and to all the IH Madrid team for their work during the event.

The main topics during the conference were Leadership and Responding to Change, Digital Transformation, Business Diversification, the Future of Work and Sustainability. As part of the IH Directors' Conference, there were several workshops which gave participants the chance to discuss and share ideas and examples of best practice together. 

One special moment during this conference was that Tanya Oratovska (IH Kyiv) and her daughter Dasha were also present in Madrid. Over the past months, the IH network has worked together to provide support for our colleagues and all the people in Ukraine. The IH World Foundation held a special event on Monday evening at the conference to raise money for this important cause.

Moving forward, the IH Directors' Conference 2023 will be held in London, where the hosts, IH London, will be celebrating a very important anniversry - 70 years in business!
